HMX Xinhai – Linear Switches with Fine Sound and Uniform Lubrication
The HMX Xinhai switch, designed by HC Studio and manufactured by HMX, stands out from other switches in this range due to the use of innovative materials and an advanced lubrication technique. It offers a smooth typing experience, with a distinct sound, suitable for both those who prefer lighter presses and users who desire firmer feedback.
Premium Material for a Distinct Acoustic Profile
- Upper casing: PA12 – a material softer than PA66 or PA2, which clearly reduces the clarity and intensity of the top-out sound, providing a more delicate tone.
- Lower casing: Modified nylon, a standard material in the HMX range, optimized for a full and balanced sound.
- Rod: WOOD, providing a clear bottom-out and a higher pitch, compared to other switches that use denser materials, such as POK.
The same casing materials are used in HMX Macchiato, but the main difference between the two switches lies in the material of the stem:
- Macchiato: Rod POK, which provides a more thocky, deep and resonant sound.
- Xinhai: Rod POM, generating a clearer and higher sound at bottom-out.
Optimized Factory Lubrication
HMX Xinhai benefits from a unique lubrication method, which involves:
- The more generous application of lubricant on the arc and metal contact (leaf spring).
- A uniform distribution of the lubricant, for a smooth and consistent response of the switch.
Pressure Force & Travel
- Actuating force: 55
- Bottom-out force: 62g
- Pre-travel: 2.0mm
- Total trip: 3.4mm
Arc and Availability
The switches are equipped with a 22mm single-stage extended KOS spring, providing quick and stable feedback.
